Where do you connect those two wires to hard wire the GPS? Should I have my dealer do it? Mark

I mounted the clamp on the vertical part of the bar down towards the riser. The 3" Ram bar is almost vertical. This keeps the GPS close to the dash and protected by the windshield.

Thanks again for everyone's help. I ordered parts to install the Garmin 2610 ($200 from here http://www.edgegps.com/eCart/viewIte...?idProduct=263) on my right brake bracket using a 3" R-A-M arm to the Garmin mount with wiring so I can power it and plug in the aux. audio.

In some ways I feel stupid getting a GPS. But Mama just can't read a map and I can't remember all the turns!I'm hopingthis will make our trips more stress free.

nightglide, how did you mount your GPS? I've got my Zumo on the bars for the moment, but I'd really like to mount it more at eye-level at the top of the fairing like you have. It shouldn't be a problem to bolt the diamond-shaped RAM 2-hole base to the "shelf" above the tach/speedo, but my big hangup about that is routing the power and XM antenna cables. I want to run them into the fairing to keep things looking cleaned up, but that would require drilling holes for the cables through the top of the fairing, and I'm concerned about water getting in there on rainy days/wash days.

I found the GPS an advantage when I was riding up in the Smokies recently. I had it set at 500 ft so I could see the curves I was coming up to. I was not caught out by any decreasing radius turns or hairpins. I did not attempt to use this on The Dragon however.

took a ride up to lake placid last weekend. set the map out far enough to see the curves before i was in them.

i am definitly able to read a map and find my way, but i dont want to run out of gas on my long trips. plus i have downloaded most all the microbrews in the states. and harley dealers.
