Are 2017-2019 gauges married to ECM?
Question to those in the know- If I want to change over from white/silver face stock gauges on a 2017 SGS to black gauges from a 2018 RoadGlide Special, will the gauges work when plugged in to my ECM? Is the mileage locked to the ECM and gauge cluster somehow? Are they plug and play? Thanks!

From everything I have read and experienced, only the speedo is "married" to the BCM after about 31 miles (time to give a few test drives and what not)
A new speedo (canbus) comes with instructions on how to marry, but as I understand, gauges do not. I have never heard of anyone "rolling back" a gauge, lol.

i wonder if reflashing the BCM with the gauges swapped would work?

Pretty sure you are going to have to get new gauges. That is what I did on my FLHTK. I had the stock black and did not like the orange tint illumination, so I got the CVO version. The kicker is the CVO version is cheaper than stock. In addition, they are much easier to view, both day and night.
