Thanks!
Yes, it will require the WHIM. "Harley Tax" Without the WHIM, you won't even have the option to pair a wireless headset on the Boom. Don't ask me how I know. I installed the Whim a couple days ago and had my ECM flashed today. Then I was able to pair my Boom headset.

It does support GPS to my headset without the WHIM. Strange I know. I could get GPS to my headset but no music.

Why are you trying to tell me something I've already stated?
Sorry.....just trying to make sure anyone who is interested enough to read this thread gets good info.

One of the last thing you said regarding devices that supply stereo sound when connected to the WHIMS was :

“That's not according to the 2018 P&A book - the H-D branded SPH10, 20S & 20S EVO, and the new "Audio Expand" headsets will”

That’s inaccurate, and I just want to make sure folks know before investing money in the WHIMS.

[QUOTE=Circa58;17963524]I think I will wait for the 30K and just use my mono 20 Evo until the 30K is available in the HD branded form.

I think this is the best strategy. My sense is that SENA (and maybe HD) are currently getting enough heat to develop more options. How hard can it be?

I hit up the OEM Harley Davidson site on Sena for the latest documentation and device manager software. Seems to be available sooner on their site.
http://oem.sena.com/harley-davidson/

They now have the user guide for the Boom Audio 30K. So guess it will be available soon-ish.

I use SENA Freewire, 20S and get full operation of all boom functions...The freewire is in lieu of the WHIM....No dealer flashing required for the Freewire option...Several videos on youtube from law abiding biker on the SENA Freewire and the WHIM...I recommend you look at the videos before making purchases.

That was a clear marketing strategy by Sena that HD went along with. That’s the only source (other than general knowledge I have picked up along the way) that I have.

I have my phone paired to the bike and my 10S to the WHIMS. You are right....I don’t have Siri, but I do have map directions. If I connect to CarPlay, I have audio map directions from Google Maps and Apple Maps. May even have Siri on CarPlay.
I just went to one recently at my dealer and went home with the 30K.

Let me get this straight - You're saying that the Harley SPH10, and the Harley 20S, and the Harley "Audio Expand" headsets won't give you stereo when connected to the Harley WHiM? Even though Harley's P&A books say they will? Where's your source of this revelation?

Cool, I will check into this before my trip to Rolling Thunder trip, but I still need to get my WHIM flashed.
