I've never had a bike in 30 yrs that popped me off the seat when I hit a small bump in the road. This seems ridiculous for a bike that price that they label as a touring model. Can anyone offer any advise that doesn't evolve money? I spent it all on the bike!
great description. I test rode one the other day and could not wait to get off. it beat the **** out of me.

The fronts are certainly stiff. I dialed my rears to 3 according to the chart in the owners manual and it has helped quite a bit. The shocks are a future upgrade for sure but the fronts will be done first

I don't know how much different the suspension is on the RG compared to the RK but I cut about 0.42" from the preload spacer and changed to 5wt fork oil. Front end was much better. Bike has some rebuilt Works shocks on the back and the suspension matches up pretty well. Still might be a little stiff for some but the bike is still very stable. Undulating sweepers at higher speeds are easy. Remember the new 49mm bagger forks only have about 4 inches of travel.

When I got my FLHXS, I swapped over from the Enforcer wheels to the Impellar wheels with the 19 in front wheel, as found on the the Ultra. Night and day difference in the ride with extra 2 inches of rubber. That low profile tire, while it looks great and may handle a bit better, makes for a hard ride. I felt the same way when I came over from a Fat Boy.

Dont forget the lower profile tire and wheel set.
That will make a ride way more harsh than the older larger profile tire and wheel sets.
Just sayin.

Again, the rear tires on all the touring bikes are identical. 16 inch with the same profile. And the rear suspension is the biggest problem on these bikes. Not that the front is great. Its too soft if anything

That front end is sick. I can't even imagine what it cost you for that set up (minus the carbon wheel), but I'm sure it was a fat stack of Benjamins.

I've never seen rear reservoirs (Öhlins) mounted like that before. Oh ****, I just noticed that the rear shocks are mounted upside-down (sweep valve at the top)! Is it kosher that your Öhlins are mounted this way?

I asked my Engineering buddies and they don't have any concerns in the two sides having different functions.

In fact in this kind of Modular vs monolithic set up, it gives you a lot more adjustability.

Progressive have been doing this with their very successful 465 Series fork shocks for years.

I pick up my new 2019 Road Glide this afternoon. I'll be riding it 1,200 miles home. Will post back with thoughts.
