Default Starting place for road pegs.

Setting up my 19 RK for longer trips and know road pegs are a must have. Just looking for a good starting point to get me in the ball park.
Have a Le pera Maverick seat.
Inseam is 32”
Should I start with angeled long arm .
Short arm .
Direct mount?
I know opinions are like ahole and find what feels good but just wanting a recommended starting point.
Thanks
Mike

with a 32'' inseam, you have fairly long legs. i, on the other hand, am about a 28''. i use the long angled mounts and it allows me to keep my toes on the pegs and my heels on my boards. you could probably get away with the short and do the same thing. either the long angled or the short angled work better with lowers. if you don't have lowers, you could probably use the direct mounts.

then there are other options, like the ciro blades, etc.

How about a look at the Kury Longhorns. And with the mini flat boards instead of pegs. I’ve usef these on two bikes. Very adjustable.

Long Angled...HARLEY only. Kury stuff rusts too easily.

OP should be fine with the short HD 360's and another that has had issues with Kury plating. Easiest with bike on a lift but just takes a bit more patience without setting up. Set up around the engine guard but don't tighten until you have them pretty close to where you are comfortable.

But OP, here is my take on highway pegs, what we presume you are talking about. Before you go this route look into Cyclesmiths Banana Boards. SO MUCH more comfortable. Posting a picture of them on my bike so that you have a good idea of what I am talking about. Had I done this first I would not have pegs on the bike. Take note that the pegs stay folded up and out of the way. The only reason they are still on is because of scarring on engine guard.

Like Skratch mentioned.... I would try to set up so you can get your toe on the highway peg and heel on your footboard. You can still get your foot up on the peg, and rest your foot between the two, and keep flat footed on the footboards. It is just another location/position you can place your feet/legs on a trip. It is an option. I find I do this quite a bit on my trips. Moving your legs and repositioning to a couple different locations can make a huge difference with muscle cramps and comfort.

30" inseam. But the long armed version is very adjustable. The ones in my photo are adjusted closer to me. They can go farther out. They pivot at two points.

And for those that had problems with Kury plating & rusting, well the ones in my photo are approx. 15-years old. Including some winter riding with salt dust on the roads.
