Show this thread to your girlfriend, and you will not have to spend another dime on her, or your stage 2. My girlfriend, wasn't small, by any means, but I married her any way 39 years ago, because love is blind. I had my engine rebuilt, so mu bike could keep up just fine with the pack of riders we rode with for a while, so my wife would not feel bad about her weight. However in the last 18 months sh has lost over 150 pounds, and now my bike will just about fly with both of us on it.

Man that is the worst I ever made my wife feel. We were at a dealership and she sat down on a used Fat Boy, and said "I could ride this one." I opened my Big Fat mouth and said, "yea a fat girl on a fat boy" and that really hurt her feelings, and at that moment I was a complete waste of oxygen.

Couple days ago I went for a ride with my wife and I made a comment that ride with her makes me a better rider, because the bike is heavier and harder to handle, change the reaction times, brake/acceleration, slow speed balance...
She wasn't very happy about it. Took me a couple minutes to figure out what I said.
I tried to fix it later, with any extra weight changes how the bike rides... but was too late.
Funny enough I have the 114 with stage one and I think is plenty. Even with 2 up uphill. as long you have some momentum, it goes great.
My wife mentioned (before the weight comment) this bike runs "stronger" than my previous one (Fatboy S 110).
