Well my Harley back rest does not have any markings on it. but I do know its Harley. Go on Harleys web site and see if yours looks like what there selling. Harley sells two types of back rest, I believe its only 2.

Thats the sad truth to the matter. Even the MC is guilty of outsourcing nowadays.

Then buy an aftermarket, made in the USA, backrest.

20 years ago my friends and I discovered that the stock original parts from the factory were USA made. But the replacement parts, ordered from dealer, from Harley, were made in China. Perhaps now even the factory is using all China made parts.

Man, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing an engraved Harley emblem on my sissy bar... It may back been on the plastic latch or on the gusset near the latch. I'll have to look when I'm home later today. I may be wrong. FWIW, I have an official HD sissy bar and the latches are made from metal. I have an Amazon luggage rack that is of equal quality overall, however, the latches are made of plastic. After at least a hundred times removing and reinstalling both the sissy bar and luggage rack, neither has any major benefit over the other, BUT I prefer the plastic latch because it doesn't scratch the paint/chrome off when you're rotating it to latch it.
