Default 12 or 13 Legend Revo-A

I have a 2008 Street Glide. I just put a trunk on it, and I need to upgrade the suspension.

I have a set of 13" Revo-A on hold at the dealer for installation on Friday. My question is this: Will a 13 negatively affect my handling in any way? I am looking for a plush ride, but I ride my bike through the canyons and mountains here in CO.

My thought about going with the 13 was to handle the extra weight on the tour pack.

I would appreciate any input you can provide.

Thanks

Appreciate your feedback once you have them installed buddy.
If its any help I contacted Legends recently with a similar enquiry and they recommend the 13s for my Streetglide, I imagine yours is a similar set up.
All the best

That really seems to be the consensus of the internet. Anything I can find recommends going with the 13". Hopefully, I won't be disappointed. (I doubt I will)

it will not negatively affect your handling. for reference purposes, the street glide has the same front suspension as the ultra. the difference is the ultra has 13'' shocks while the streetglide has 12'' shocks. by putting on 13'', you will increase your available lean angle, and the suspension travel, giving you a 'plusher' ride. so you'll be checking off both of your boxes. it just won't sit as low, though it isn't really all that noticeable.

You definitely wanna go with the 13s. You get more stoke and it’ll mean a better ride. I’m loving mine.

The touring bikes were designed for a 13 rear shock. That what they all had until the street glide, it came with a 12, everything else is the same. Then the CVO Steet glides and road glides switched to the 12. When specials came out they went to 12" It was all for looks and style. They did not change the front suspension height nor the neck angle. The bike rides better and handles better with 13" as that is what the bike was designed for.

I went with 13s on my 2015 Street Glide. 1 inch sag puts it back at 12 when I sit on it. Loving mine so far with about 200 miles on them in the week since I put them on.

13"s are the way to go. The 12"s that they put on the SG are just for looks to get the rear end down. You give up too much in ride quality and the extra length is barley noticeable with the sag set correctly.

Hate to burst your bubble, I had Revo-A’s (13”) on my Electra Glide. Sorry to say they didn’t perform very well. Sold them after about a month. Yes, 13” is better than 12”.

If if I recall the legend shocks still use the older technology oil dampening as opposed to gas charged.
The only thing good I can say about them is their customer service.
