Im sure the price point is well established for HD and this isn't click bait for all of those who get a good feeling when they have the dealer do things so it's done right.

When you add up all the component pricing that is branded HD it probably helps to substantiate the cost. Me? I don't know who HD gets their oil from probably walmart and I know an o ring is only a few cents. Who makes their filters? Then the primary seal. Ok probably proprietary I haven't done mine yet.

I change my own oil and I will splurge on a KN filter. Its a decent filter but most important it's black.

Brings to mind the subject of Audio. OMG! HD plays it like it's effing Rocket Surgery. If you walk in to a dealer and ask 1 question about modify the audio
"Well are you going HD or Rockford Fosgate?"
Neither I'm asking you a question....
Then the douche customer standing in line says "I got fosgate plug and play. It's outside if you want to check it out"
What? No....Im just asking a question.

BTW my audio is kicking *** right now on my 17 FLHX and there's no rockford anything and screw stage II or whatever. You take the tuner you got and throw a kenwood m3004 and new speakers at it. BOOM!!! for sure. Today Im adding the rear lid speakers. Which FYI HD will not sell you the female side of the harness. You have to buy a ? Tour pak audio I think. F them.

Check your owners handbook! I think you will find that you are paying for a service, not just an oil change.

So far we still live in a free county, if you dont think someones services are worth it you can go elsewhere. They are free to charge whatever they want.
If I can find people to pay me $150 to change oil on a motorcycle, I will quit my job tomorrow and start doing it.

If you didnt ask before the service, then that is your fault.

Only cost me about $58.00 to change oil and filter myself. That's 4 qts of mobile 1 and a K&N filter, I like them because they have a nut on the top makes ez to remove. When I do it for friends $58.00 and a case of Miller lite.If I need all three holes HD primary oil $10.00 Bell Ray gear oil $15.00 more. And yes I check the bike out very good just like the dealer. So learn to do it yourself and save.

I spend about $22 per oil change.
Bike has 25 K on it, never needs make up oil between changes. Have posted no less then 5 UOAs on bobistheoilguy.com and even one or two in this forum.

I use Mystik JT8 15w50 semi syn and HD filter.
Even more important to me is the Mystik JT8 actually fulfills HD oil recommendation of a Diesel Rated CH4+ or higher oil.

In my area it's roughly 400 for a full service.. Obviously it's more than a standard oil change.. They look at bolts and take an extra amount of time to justify the new 100 an hour rate..

Ditto, except I use a reusable K&P

I’ve dropped almost $100 on fluids for all three holes, filter, derby cover gasket and o-rings. Going to a buddy’s tomorrow for maintenance 101 where he’s showing me how to do it myself.
