Good engine builders/tuners in southern ohio?

I would ask them. Roaders will do the heads and it produce the numbers it should. The harley kits leave a lot on the table.

Stay away from Harleys stage kits. Like said they leave to much on the table. Gms tman there and others are top notch.. 6 grand holly smokes. I would buy a S&S 124 HC for that price and two year warranty . I did a 107 outlaw kit from FM I have been very pleased. I do like to ride my bike in the 3k to 4k range all day long . I had a friend help me with the build. And we knocked it out in two days . We just did my friends bike after he rode mine .

Chad aka Harley Tuner on this site used to work there if you want an opinion from the inside.

Knowing what I know about them the quote reflects replacing every weak link in the system, oil pump, tensioners, bearings, valves, springs.... etc. They are more than likely pricing a D&D exhaust $$$ tuner and all the bells and whistles. You don't need all of it and they will work with you on the build. They take a lot of pride in their work and want everything working together for long term durability and good numbers. The motor they did for me is top notch as is the tune they put on it.

Make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Roeders quote more than likely was with clutch, exhaust, a/c, tuner, tune all parts and labor. Roeders is a full service shop, they do everything in house including all the machine work.

I too could use a tuner near southern ohio, for a mild 98 RK that so far I have just repaired and upgraded to an EV13 cam. My goal is to match the air and exhaust for an efficient tune and happy machine, nothing radical. Still havent been able to educate myself on piggy-back tuners. Looks like I would have had an easier time about 10 years ago finding aftermarket solutions for those.

I used to live in Louisville, so im familiar with Evansville, but my step-son lives in Batavia and its closer. With my antiquated fuel system a Gray beard Tech is what I need... I will check it out.
I need to consult with someone who knows before I make any purchases for tuning
