Default Terrible front brakes on 2010 ultra

Looking to replace front brake rotors with arlen ness big brake rotor kit. I am on my 2nd set of factory rotors. Anyone running Ness big brake kit?

I don’t know anything about the Arlen Ness brakes. But how many miles on your bike to use two sets of rotors? Some people claim to go through them fast. I put the Harley full floating rotors on mine when it was almost new and got almost 100,000 out of the fronts.

What exactly is terrible about them in your opinion, performance, longevity, looks, what? How many miles on your Ultra to eat two sets? What pads do you run? Any issues with the rear? Describe your typical brake use for everyday slow, normal and high speed stops. How often do you panic stop?

Sounds like an installation issue causing them to warp for him to go through 2 sets.

I would tend to agree assuming he is warping the rotors. It would indicate either a master cylinder issue, or build up on the pistons that needs to be cleaned, or poor pad installation. Most likely the first. But that is with us guessing as to his actual complaint.

Ok here goes. Bike 2010 with 26,500 miles. Change riding style no. I have been riding motorcycle for 45 years. Rode and raced for years. The issue is the bike is way under braking the rotors are to small and cheap steel. My harley tech has seen many many and replaced. Riding style is 80% front brake as it is supposed to be. I do not fly up to stop signs or signals. Thanks for the input.

Never had any issues with the other 4 Harleys I had. Just the ultra. My tech claims the bike is too heavy for the size of the rotors and I agree.
