Default 2015 RGS - what setting on rear shocks?

I've only had my 2015 Road Glide Special a few weeks and am already hating the rear suspension. The air suspension on my 2014 Road King rides so much better. I have the Glide shocks set at 5 clicks, which is what the manual calls for with my weight (290). I dialed it down a bit and it still rides harsh. Anyone have any suggestions besides getting new shocks (which is probably in my future)?

try dialing it up a couple of clicks. i've sometimes found a better ride using a higher than recommended setting. then while you're getting used to that, look for some aftermarket 13'' shocks. the 12's just don't have enough travel for comfort.

Standard length shock is 5 clicks.
you have lows, I would try 10.

Agree with this, or maybe a bit more. I just put 12" adjustables from a '17 RG in my '11 Ultra. I'm 230lbs plus about 20 pounds of stuff on the bike. 9 turns is working good for me.

Play with the settings all you want but your not gonna be satisfied...... Your gonna have to spend the coin on an aftermarket pair of shocks. Pro-Action, Legends, or Ohlins would be my top 3 choices. I went with Pro-Action shocks for my 2015 RG

Holy cow!
I have a set of the 12 inch hand adjustable shocks on my Road King. Replaced my 13 inch air shocks with them. For a SOLO ride, I back the adjuster all the way off till it stops. Run it up the first click, then go 2 (two) full rotations or clicks, and stop. Works perfect for me. I run only 2 clicks more with the wife on back. 5 or 10 clicks would be dang near a rigid frame ride for me. I read what the manual says, but those are MY setting and I'm happy with them.
