Chicken strips?

Worn strips in the center of the tire from riding straight up, not leaning the bike much. I.e. chicken strips...

I want more comfort which from what I read, means higher bars. I do like to ride pretty hard through the twisties and I figured lower bars provide better handling. What is people's experience with apes and different lengths. Do you end up sacrificing agility by going with higher bars? I'm wondering if I go with something not as high like a 12" bar to still provide a sitting position that allows me to crouch in for a more aggressive riding style.

Thanks

I recently sold scoot in signature pic, I installed the Factory 47 14" bars and loved em. In reality they were 13" by measurement. I'm 5'11" and also have the Lepera that puts you 2" back and 1" lower and felt great.

I think with your heigth you'd be fine with 14". Felt great in twisties and seemed more stable to me at slower speeds. Already missing the scoot, but looking to get a newer one now, this time looking into a Road Glide...

Good luck on your decision!

I put 10-inch KST Mayhem Bagger bars on the 2014 CVO Limited and think it puts me in a great riding position. Rode from NorCal to Sturgis and back, and I was comfortable all the way. Also, it seems I have a lot more control than when the stock bars were on. I am 6'-3" tall.

I am also running 16-inch KST Mayhem bars on my 2013 Road King, and I ride that bike every day dodging heavy traffic. I get in the hills pretty frequently and manage corners just fine. One thing I have found, though, is with the tall bars I have to drop my hands periodically after riding for more than an hour or so. May just be me, though.

I put a set of 12" LA Choppers twin peaks on my 19 street glide and it completely changed the feel of my bike for the better. I'm 6' 2, 280 and it makes the ride much more enjoyable for me.

I've found it easier to flick mine around since I installed my 16" apes. I am 6'6", 275.

I know the 12” KST bars I demoed were definitely more responsive feeling than the stock bars I am replacing.
I am currently waiting on my grips which are back ordered to install them.

"Chicken strips" is actually used to describe the shiny, unused part of a motorcycle tire’s tread. The only way to scrub this part of the tire is to lean further.
