Default Parts list for slider change

Planning to pick up chrome sliders soon and an having trouble finding any solid info on what I should be changing while it's apart as far as seals/bushings. Is there a kit of parts or a list of needed items?

Not going whole hog with big dollar parts, but is there a worthwhile cheapish upgrade to do? Intiminators?

Sliders I bought a James gasket and seal kit from dennis kirk. and used 15 weight fork oil to stiffen it up a little. I painted inner fairing and did bars and riser bushings when I had mine apart. don't forget to get the chrome cowbells.
also good time to polish the front wheel and check brakes and bearings

If you don't want to play around, get two (2) 49377-09A Fork Rebuild kits (on Ronnies for 36.99 each). It will have all the seals and bushing you'll need.

Have the right tools to do the job. Review the procedure for removing the ignition, the bottom retaining screws, as well as inserting the seals.

Don’t forget to scrap the the stock springs and put in cartridges...

Progressive $300 ish
Legends $750 ish
Ohlins $1000 ish

It will handle like it should have from the factory.

45940-84 is the bottom bushing. If you haven't already, don't forget to get (2) top bushings - 45866-84.

I just did chrome sliders on my 2012 RG and this is the kit I used, James Gasket and got it from Ebay for less that $20 shipped. Worked perfect. My bushings were in good shape as the bike only has 13k miles so I didn't change them.

If you need the bushings also this kit has everything except O-Rings

This is a little time consuming but not a hard job. plus I made the tool to tap the top seal in, out of a 2 inch pvc coupling, just ground down the edge little at a time til it fit. I watched video on you tube and all went well. You will love the chrome lowers, so much easier to keep clean and look way better.

The only downside of putting chrome lowers on, is you’ll never have another bike without them!
