Default Apes on an Ultra Limited

I've been searching around and haven't had much luck. I am looking for people that have installed ape hanger handlebars on an Ultra Limited. I am trying to decide what height I would like and also whether to stick with bar mounted mirrors or switch to fairing mount mirrors. I like the Z bar look. Pictures would be great.

You will want to go with 12 to 16" bars. 12 to 14 the bar mounted mirrors are good. With 16's, the fairing mounted mirrors will work. https://www.google.com/search?q=ultr...w=1440&bih=789

This is definitely the low end of the bar spectrum, I installed 10-inch to keep my hands protected by the fairing (somewhat) and to raise the grips to a comfortable level. Stock bars were way too low for me for all-day riding. I have 16-inch bars (also KST Mayhem) on my Road King, but I find them a bit high when going on long rides. I do go on longer rides on the RK, but for really long rides, I prefer a bit lower bars than the 16-inch. That's just me, and I am 6'-3". If you want pics of bikes with higher bars on them, check the gallery at the KST site. Plenty of bikes with different height bars there.

I always recommend folks take a look at wild 1 chubbys for handlebars. Been around forever and cant bet em in my opinion! Good luck and safe travels.

I have LA Choppers 12" Twin Peaks on my bike, hands are just above the fairing, but when in motion, the aerodynamics sends the air over your hands. It does leave your knuckles vulnerable to large bugs and rocks.

I have the 12.5" wild one chubbys. Nice height for me at 6'2"

Thats what the dealer recommended and put on even before I took the bike home.

I run 12's, 6'1" and my hands are just below my shoulders. Makes my back straight and no lean forward, 600+ miles a day with now fatigue. Not an Ultra but.....

OP; Nice 1st post...also, for bar height, it's not a guessing game - you go f/ comfort. To measure = sit on bike, close eyes, reach out w/ both arms to comfortable height, open eyes & have someone measure fm mount to hands...there's your height.
