Stuck Oil Filter
That extra 1/3 of a turn with the filter wrench may come back and haunt you next oil change. Never use a filter wrench to tighten an oil filter, hand tight is good enough. I've done 100's of oil changes on heavy equipment and never had a fuel or oil filter leak or come loose by just using my hand to tighten them.
Playing Devil's Advocate, if you tighten the filter 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn by hand, or tighten it 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn using a wrench to assist you, is the one tighten by the wrench ANY tighter than the one tightened by hand?
I have the socket, extension, and ratchet wrench laying right there from removing the old K&N filter, so I just put it on the nut and ONLY tighten it............. you guessed it, 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn! No problems...........EVER. Just sayin', a 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn is a 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn. Torque will still be the same.........

With a clean hand, the most I can muster is 45 in-lbs of torque. Never had a leaker, and never had an issue with removal.
