01 Road King 1450 21k miles
Looking to make a purchase very soon. New to the cruising scene especially to HD. Coming from a crotch rocket background, time for me to slow down. How's $10.5k sound for the listed above? Been looking around at similar bikes. Dude changed the rims and some slight mods but. Just wondering y'all's opinion. I'll try to submit some photos if I can. Thank you for the input and appreciate any feed back. Thanks again.

It's hard to tell for sure in the pics, but it looks to be EFI. If it's EFI, pass on it.
The 2001 touring bikes were the last year for the Magneti-Marelli EFI system that Harley used in its early EFI bikes. While the system functioned fairly well in its time, it is virtually obsolete... They are hard to find parts for, harder to find people who know how to work on them, and many people are switching them to carbs and a few to the Delphi EFI system. That can be involved and cost some coin...
Secondly, I believe that even in today's seller's market, that bike is way over priced... Per Black Book Powersports, he is asking $4,100 ABOVE "Average Retail" and almost $6,000 above "Clean Trade"
Year: 2001
Make: Harley-Davidson
Model: FLHR/I Road King
Model Type: Cruiser
Displacement: 1450
Cylinders: 2
VIN: 5HD1FBW11
Finance Advance: $4,510
MSRP: $15,520
Avg Retail: $5,925
Auction Wholesale $4,590
Clean Trade: $4,445
Fair Trade: $3,655
Plus you have to factor in that it's a 2001 (great engine, 2nd last year for lefty timken bearing and forged crank) but needs to have the spring cam tensioners changed out. If that hasn't been done, that's anywhere from $800 to $2500, depending on how you decide to upgrade those tensioners, if you pay a shop to do it...
IMHO.... even if I was competent enough to deal with the MM EFI (doubt you'd find a dealership willing to work on it), I wouldn't offer more than $4,900 for that bike... That same bike with a carb, I'd pay up to maybe $5,500, if I really wanted it, it was in excellent condition, and the cam tensioners were already upgraded to my standards.
Good luck with your decision....

THIS!
It IS a nice-looking bike, but everything mentioned above still applies. Way overpriced. Just take that amount and shop newer and see what you can find. If you're patient and keep your eyes out, you may just surprise yourself.
I had been looking for quite a while for an H-D. Had other bikes to ride so time wasn't an issue. I found this 37k-mile '06 RKC with a "stage 1" and V&H true duals on Fb marketplace and went to look at it- asking price? $6,000obo. It had beach bars (really wanted), black crash bars (a nice change from chrome), white walls ( ), and it wasn't black! I know, blasphemy, but I'm not a "murdered out" kinda guy.
When I got there, there were a few things not mentioned in the ad, like a couple of small dents in the fuel tank where the beach bars were set too low and knocked the tank, and oh, the muffler fell off! Til it was all said and done, we agreed on $4,200, he signed the title and we hauled it home. From there, I upgraded the ECU to a ThunderMax (True duals already had O2 bungs - again- ) and when we looked at the spring tensioners, they were worn. So, a SE hydraulic tensioner plate, a pair of Andrews 21 cams, and a 24-tooth trans sprocket were add-ons to the total price. Altogether, I've got a little over the guy's original asking price in the bike, but it is exactly the way I want it. This is going to be a long-time love affair, and the miles are piling up -- 20,000 this year already!
I understand things are goofy right now, but if possible, wait to find the right one and you'll be the one smiling after the sale, not the guy hoping to profit on a once-in-a-lifetime buying spree! IMHO
