Fairing can have a radio.

But, I’m kind of a purest on Road Kings, just a shield, that can pop off and on fast.

If buffeting not an issue then windshield
Not same bike but with my fat boy and currently with my heritage I have not found a windshield that doesn't beat my head senseless

I was in the same boat.. This windshield is pretty good but the fairing is awesome.. I tried the recurve ones from LRS, freedom shields and Kloxkworx.. To no avail. The memphis one has proved to be best. 17 inch.. SPORTING Mustang Super Touring ... I'm 6'3

Windshield.

Fairings scream to me that the owner wishes they had bought a street glide. And when they add a tour pack as well, it screams that they wish they had bought an ultra classic or limited. The don't call it a road KING for nothing! But I also can't believe they charge more for the special and no windshield.

I own a Limited and the fairing is nice for wind protection, but I love my Road King Classic and couldn't imagine anything but the stock windshield on it. It does just fine for wind protection and doesn't add the weight a fairing with stereo does.

In "10 my RK was on the showroom floor with the Memphis Shade fairing on it. Originally I rose with the stock shield and then put the MS back on and its been on ever since. The main reason is it blocks the sun from reflecting off the chrome blinding me. I use a three part pouch behind it also. It took me three shields to finally get the one I want, including a recurve made for MS.
