Default Upgrade to Rockford fosgate pmx-hd9813

I just about finished installing my upgrade to this unit when I went to plug in the 2 main wire harnesses from the bike to the head unit. Only problem is that I have 2 24 pin wire harness and not the 35. I suppose I'm gonna have to return this? Or is the a adapter of some sort to make this work?

So the radio you purchased looks like the back of mine that’s on a 2010 limited with cb,intercom, rear speakers controls and with an amplified head unit.Just a guess here. The plug with 24 pin connector might be for a bike without out all that like a street glide?

The only thing coming off of the 35 pin connector is the rear speakers. I think they are pins 1 and 24 for 1 speaker and 2 and 25 for the other. I just put this HU into my '13 Classic. If you are going to use an amp with it, you can use the pre-amp outputs for the rear instead of getting the other plug.

Yeah I thought about going to an amp but the power from the head unit with just 2 speakers seems to be plenty loud. If I went to adding a sub then I would need the amp but no plan to go that route after spending 1700.00 on stage 1 with 4 speakers. Maybe later on.

Here is a plug on ebay that will plug into the back of the radio and you would have to splice into your rear speaker wires. It saves a few bucks over the one you mentioned and it is only the 1 plug that you need.

Thanks for the information on the plug. Are you sure it will work with the rockford fosgate pmx-hd9813. As it states it's for a Harmon kardin.

That's the plug that fits the 06-13 Harley oem Harmon Kardon head unit. The Rockford Fosgate is made to plug right in to the stock wiring on those years. If the radio is working for you except for the rear speakers, this is the plug that will get the rear speaker outputs for you. You will just have to find which wires in your plug goes to the rear speakers and splice them to the wires on this plug. My 13 EGC didn't originally have rear speakers so I ran speaker wire to the fairing and hooked them up to the 4 wires in that plug.
