Question Heated Grips - Anyone Seen This?

The end-cap / temp selector has broken away from the grip. Slides around a bit...

Before I go and replace the entire grip I'm wondering if I can simply squirt in some RTV silicone, close it up and call it a day...

Certainly worth a try if they still work and the endcap mates with the grip. Might not last forever, but sure beats spending the money and time to replace them.

I wouldn’t use RTV, you need a heat resistant adhesive.

Let me guess, tried to lift/hold the bike or whatever and your palm was around the end?

Yes, this happened to me. Same grips but the black version... I just used super glue (gel type). Been like that for maybe 2 years. No issues.

And…..unfortunately you have to buy the entire kit to replace it ($295) - cannot buy the parts, pieces, or just one grip……take your time and repair as well as you can - good luck

Thanks!

Can't say why it broke-free... I just noticed a few weeks ago that the dial housing was rotating a bit with the dial. I will give the super-glue fix a try!

Actually the OEM repair parts are available but it's cheaper to buy the kit to replace both grips
