I changed grips on my RoadKing and pinched wires for the left handlebar controls. I have changed the wires but the starter still wont engage and nothing shows up on the odometer screen. All lights come on and I can hear the fuel pump working. Any ideas before I start throwing money at it?
Yes. I checked all fuses I know of. A 10 amp fuse was blown. I replaced it but still the same issue. I also unhooked battery for about a month because someone said that might reset a breaker.
If you're sure the left side is ok now then I'd double check the right side as well. Might also want to check continuity of the fuses. sometimes they are hard to tell.
Make sure the battery is fully charged and good. Pull it, charge it, and have it load tested. Or pull the small solenoid wire from the starter and, with bike in neutral, jump it from the battery positive, (wire with rubber boot), on the starter. If it won't crank over the battery is weak.
I know you said there is nothing in the odometer, but did you try to retrieve codes? Hold trip button down then turn ignition on?
The right and left hand controls are now modules and communicate with the BCM via CANBUS. Does the Left turn signal work?

Do the new ones even have a breaker? They went to a maxi fuse. Does the fuel pump normally come on if kill switch is off? mine don't so that implies kill switch is ok. I think you are going to have to get out a meter.
Happened to me years ago, had a tine frayed fire in the grips, I was able to read the pins on TSSM to figure out where voltage lacking.
You screwed something up, and need to figure out what. Meter and wiring diagrams, and manual if needed. If not electric manual.
I went out and tested all fuses and they are all good. The battery is good and fully charged. The turn signals, horn, high/ low beam, emergency flashers, do not work. Basically the only thing that does work on the hand controls is the kill switch. All lights come on with the ignition except the odometer. The brake light works with the foot pedal only.
@JKimbrough
Unplug the wires going to each hand control and turn the ignition on, see if the odometer will display.
Did you try holding in the odometer trigger switch then turning on Ignition? When you do this the DTC's should show in the odometer window.
