Default Clutch chirp

New to me 2019 FLTRU…I gotta admit getting used to the hydraulic clutch is different. But one thing is bothering me, 1st to 2nd gear shift before the primary and trans are fully up to temp there is a slight chirp. Doesn’t happen in any other gears. It could be letting the clutch out a little to fast but it doesn’t seem right to me. Anyone hear of this? Common issue or something to look for?.

Sure you haven't got a belt chirp, you shouldn't hear anything inside the primary that would remotely make that kind of noise.

Do yourself a favor and get a Muller or Recluse clutch slave.

My wife's 2019 heritage does that
and it has a cable clutch. I just don't mention it to her and she pays no attention to noises.

Clean the belt with hot soapy water, rinse, then spray some silicone on the belt and see if it goes away.

I’ve got 5 months to deal with it, I even still have warranty until July next year, but closest dealer is a 250mi ride. The primary cover will be coming off when I get my 1275 springs and comp ramp in. Then it will get some Amsoil as well, I’ll check out the belt at the same time but I’ve never heard of one chirping? Sure in CVT applications but not HD’s. A skip, sure if it’s loose, but not a slip or chirp. It sure feels to me relative to the clutch, only happen when cold, like the first shift of a ride, after that it’s gone.

Been looking into these but I already find the stock one pretty consistent, and the pull is very easy to. Not sure if it would be worth the money, what are the other benefits? By “getting used to hydraulic clutch” I guess I’m just referring to the grab, it seems to grab harder then a cable, more sudden? But the pull is great compared to my previous road king that had a heavy duty diaphragm spring. Night and day difference on the ease.

The stock clutch has a spring damper that I believe is to stop the chirp. Has the clutch been changed and that taken out?

Just ride, something chirps in my primary area particularly in the turns and twisties grabbing gears or dropping gears.

I will read this forum, then ride and for a while, I hear all sorts of ‘noises’, then I remember I am on a machine.

Many would be horrified if they sat near the engine and front suspension on their cars and trucks the noises they would experience.

Until the thing stops running or starts to making obnoxious banging or screeching noises, it’s a machine doing what machines do.

Ride it!

I bought a 2020 Ultra Limited new and it did the same thing to me. Service stated it was no problem.
