No "Window Sticker"

Of all the cars and motorcycles I've traded over the past 40 years, no dealership has ever expressed any curiosity about the vehicle's history beyond "Any major accidents"?
Not where it was originally purchased. Not how it was used. Not how it was serviced. Nothing.
They're just not in that business.

I'm one of the guys that like to see sales price on the vehicle or website.
That said, I get the reason that some don't do it.
If they are relying on a price tag to sell the vehicle, it can become a race to the bottom on pricing. I'm sure they want the opportunity to actually "sell" you the vehicle and not just sell a low price.

As a young married couple, my wife and I found ourselves in the resort town of Miami Lakes. We had dinner at SHULAS. They didn’t have a menu, server rolled a cart table side and pointed at your options, each entree had an index card with the description and price. As you ordered your entree the server pointed to and ask; tossed salad or Caesar? potato or pasta? Green beans or Asparagus? Pan toast or dinner roll? None of the sides had a price card.
Turns out the $50 entree didn’t include anything! They caught us for over $100 each for steak dinners!! I almost passed out. At the time, 1987, you could eat at the finest steak house in our Virginia burg for $25 a head all in!

I stopped by the BMW dealer yesterday for an update on a warranty drive shaft issue, and when I was done I spent 1/2 checking out bikes that I wasn't too familiar with in the showroom.
Each bike had prices, options, specs including HP, TQ fully loaded weight etc and because of that I spent longer in their showroom than I otherwise would have. I didn't need a salesman hanging with me and I learned some stuff (and have my eye on a Ducati now too )

My dealer has stopped using "hang tags" on the new bikes he has on the sales floor. I asked them why they stopped and was told the hang tags were supplied by HD but didn't accurately list the breakdown of specific options on each cycle and it's resulting total price (w/options).
They went on to say, customers looked at the hang tag price then the sales staff had to point out whatever else was on the base cycle that wasn't reflected in the hang tags total price. (such as a special paint color).
Anyway that's the reason I was given and I wasn't about to question them more or debate the issue. I would suggest that they could have easily modified the HD supplied hang tag or even created one of their own. Maybe some day ALL vehicles (cycles, boats, ATV's, Wave Runners etc etc etc) might also be required to have Monroney stickers......but don't hold your breath, dealers have a lot of lobbying power.
