Default Wheel change

Hey guys, I have a 2001 road king classic with the wire spoke wheels, I can get a stock set of wheels from a 2012 street glide for a good price, my question is wheel these wheels be a direct bolt on? I know the rear tire will be wider but can I use a narrower tire to make it work? If so, what size tire is recommended? Thanks for any info

I don't believe the rear will mount up due to the difference in the drive pulley mounting, cush drive vs bolt on.

Axle size on the '01 is, I think, 3/4 inch. Same on the '12 is 25mm. Definitely NOT a direct swap.

The front wheel can fit with an axle change. The rear won't as it's setup for a wider rear tire, narrow belt, same axle problem but the newer axle won't fit the swingarm.. I like street glide wheels, Had them on my 07 EGC and had them on a 02 RK classic.. Used 09-up 18 inch fronts. You can use street glide rears up to 08 but will have to replace the bearings and spacer in the wheel.. The early TC (except 99) disks bolt on.

10-up (2010-13) for 18" street glide "Airstrikes" ... 2009 was the only year with a 17" Airstrike

Good catch.. Also I should mention that the 02 -08 rears will need a bearing and spacer change as the axles are 1 inch and 25mm..

Thanks for the info, I think I’m just gonna stick with my spoke wheels, I was hoping they would just bolt on
