After months of searching ebay and facebook groups searching for the needed oem cruise control parts i finally 2 weeks ago found a 04 road king being parted out on ebay.. only saw the module for sale so i messaged the seller to see if he had the controls... well he did so i purchased it all from him... only bummer was it wasnt plug and play on the hand controls... 04 has the deutsch connector and my 07 rk has a different kind... so a litlle cutting and soldering and bam... its on and working awesome.... thank you to anyone that helped with wiring diagrams as this was my first time doing anything like this.. i love this forum
Nice!! After a couple years on my 05 RK I initially thought I wanted cruise, I installed the CruiseMate flipper switch on the throttle tensioner and a few trips its serves my purpose as I get bored having it activated too long. I could see on long hauls over 4 lane Highways across the Midwest plains states cruise will be nice though!!
After riding for decades I added cruise control to my current bike. The ability to give the right hand and arm a break on long rides is awesome. I'm not sure why I waited so long. Enjoy!
I love my cruise. It is as accurate as my cars, uphill, down hill, release to slow down or stop. We tour, so the cruise helps keep us aware and alert. Congratulations on getting yours installed. You will love it.
Years ago I had throttle locks. A temporary solution that I’m glad I’m no longer using. They worked okay on a level road, so you got a few minutes wrist relief. Cruise rests your wrist so you are ready for any quick action. I see it as a safety feature for any rides over several hours.
