Default Dealer surprised me today

I brought my 07 Ultra in today to see about some cosmetic defects for warranty. I came in fully prepared to fight tooth and nail, but the service manager looked at my complaints and said they were valid and asked how I wanted them made right. I told him i'd prefer to just be given the parts and I'd install them myself, and he agreed to that with the requirement that I provide him the old parts. can't seem to get the pics uploaded but, regardless, the dealer surprised me.

Could you tell me what the dealers fix is for the loose plastic piece under the ignition. I have the same problem on mine and am wondering what is done to correct it.

Well, for some reason I could not click on your links to view them. I was able to cut and paste them to take a look, though. Looks like the front exhaust cover is boot marks. Are they replacing that for you, as well? Also, since it looks like they are going to replace the front master cylinder, are they willing to allow you to pay the difference to get the chrome piece? Just curious, as most seem to replace them at some point, anyways. Would save you a step, and money if you were able to do it now. But, I guess if they already ordered the parts, it will be to late.

In any event, I am glad they seem to be willing to make you happy. It is good to hear a dealer doing something to appease us, the ones who spend so much money to keep their lights on, LOL.

they're simply going to put another trim piece on, he said it's a two sided tape, if it fails again he's unsure what to do next. the chrome heat shield isn't boot, it's rust. He's going to replace the entire M/C, and part of the brake lever assembly where even more paint has come off, but I'm staying with black, there's too much chrome on the bike as it is. the MOCO will have to do something about that because he indicated that he's warranteed a great many M/C for that same problem. Oh, and their name is Cowboy HD in South Austin...

good job I'd say
