I put a supertrapp on my '06 Street Glide and I love it. I thought I would not like the one sidid nature of the pipe but on this bike I think it looks just fine. I love the sound, not too loud just a low clean growl.

Went to do the purchase today..........

couldn't decide, and besides it has become very obvious to me that the heads on the twin cam motor are holding it up. So instead of spending 7-8 bills on an exhaust system that wouldn't give me the full potential unless I did the heads, Iam going to run the stock exhaust until I can do the heads and exhaust at the same time. But it will be the Bassani 2 into 1 for me when it's time

But I did purchase the PowerCommander and will be have a dyno tune next week.
Time will tell, but I'll see what this SE Big Bore kit will produce with the dynotune, and go from there

This is the only one of the other side I had to show.

You people have got to be kidding. D&D FatCats, Thunderheaders, and V&H ProPipe's are loud. You people are already deaf.

D&D FatCats - Loud pipes. Some riders complain about the side down pipe overheating heating their right leg. Dealer says they make good HP and no dips they have to fight when they dyno tune. Excellent fit and finish. They come with falsies. (We don't need no stickin' falsies)

Thunderheaders - Very loud pipes. Good performance on full throttle. Needs good tuner to get it tuned right. Fit and finish are not very good. Chrome job is questionable. They come with falsies. (We don't need no stickin' falsies)

V&H ProPipe HS. - Loud pipes. Produces good low-end torque on stock motor. Excellent fit and finish. Tuner needs to tune it properly so that they don't blue. They do not come with falsies. This would be my choice.

I have to agree about the fit and finish of the Thunderheaders. Mine were chrome, but blued so badly that I coated them. The factory chrome is very thin. I also refuse to pay $100.00 for their heat shields! Great performance though. Personally, I like the RB Racing LSR's and the Bassani Road Rage pipes. I had actually ordered the RB racing pipes and later that day went to the local HD dealer, and saw these Thunderheaders on clearance at a price I couldn't refuse. Still wished I had gone with the RB's though.

Depending on what cam you are using, spending money on heads is not cost effective. You would do better just doing the exhaust. Heads only come in to play at high rpm. Not usually money well spent on a touring bike. If I was doing the big bore, I might do a head swap, but doing heads by themselves considering cost of labor it is not worth it to gain only about 3or4 horse at top end of power band. Perhaps you should take a close look at the cams you are running, if you want more power maybe a swap is in order. Using the right cams will help alot more than tricked out heads.

I hear what your saying, I was just thinking out loud...........lol
I've got the SE 203 cams that came with the big bore kit, that I had installed before I took delevery of the bike. I've got the PC tuner now and an appointment for a dyno tune next week<<<<<weather permitting>>>>>>>>

I also found a used Bassani Road Rage that was run on a 124" Road King. I understand it wasn't loud enough for the owner, I just hope he wants to sell it to me :-)
If not, I'll just get it tuned for the stock exhaust.

But headwork and a "different" set of gear driven cams are in my future

Sorry, but can someone decipher this please?
Its from RB racing
"Our competitors must think you won't notice that they neck their 1 3/4" to 2 1/4" pipes down to as small as 1 1/2" to mate them to your exhaust ports. RB Racing's Turbo Venturies are expertly heliarced to each primary tube eliminating any internal obstuctions and insuring the maximum flow from each exhaust port. RB Racing won't build phony performance pipes...We sure as hell won't ask you to port your heads, put in bigger valves and a high performance camshaft then stick a bunch of stainless steel discs or machined aluminum butt plugs in the pipe to restrict the flow! And we damn sure won't put some silly "1950-ish" reverse megaphone pipe with internal flat plates, baffles and air foils to screw up your performance. "
Thanks
