ROADKING VS 1500 HONDA INTERSTATE
#92
MY ROADKING IS PRETTY STRONG. I HAD IT ON 3 DIFFERENT DYNOS,GOT 3 DIFFERENT #s BUT I DO KNOW ON SAME DYNO IT IS STRONGER THAN A STOCK 103 WITH RACE TUNER AND PIPES, MY QUESTION IS WILL A ROADKING PULLING 103 HP RUN WITH A HONDA VALKRIE 1500 INTERSTATE. I WORK WITH A FREIND THAT RIDES ONE OF THESE BIKES AND HE HAS A BUDDY RIDING A GOLDWING.WELL IT IS TWO AGAINS ONE HERE.I HAVE RODE BEHIND THE GOLDWING AND I FELT LIKE I COULD HAVE TOOK HIM BUT HE IS NOT THE ONE THAT RUNS DOWN HARLEYS ALL THE TIME AND I DIDNT PUSH IT JUST KEPT PRESSURE ON THE GOLDWING 1800, THE 1500 VALKRIE GUY IS THE ONE I WANT TO TEAR A NEW ONE,JUST DONT KNOW HOW STRONG THIS BIKE REALLY IS AND IF HE OUT RUNS THE ROADKING I WILL CATCH HELL AT WORK, WE HAVE NOT RUN AGAINS EACH OTHER YET, BUT IT IS COMING, CAN I TAKE THE HONDA 6 BANGER. CAN SOMEBODY SHINE SOME LIGHT HERE, THIS GUY CAN REALLY GET UNDER YOUR SKIN, IF HE WASNT A FREIND I WOULD HAVE ALLREADY KILLED HIM.
2nd. You do not want to fu(c)k with the Valk.
Been riding Hawgs since '72. Got a 1998 Valk Tourer, 07 Ultra and a lot in between. Nothing can touch the Valk. The only thing it needs is a 6th gear. Then it would be almost the perfect cruiser. No HD tatoos. But, the truth is the truth. Sorry. I am not a motorcyclist brand racist.
If my ol man fought the Japs in WWII and thought it was ok for me to ride a Jap bike I reckon that is good enough for me .Right now they are one of the only friends we have.

in reality a little chainsaw gsxr 600 suzuki can outrun about anything harley builds, and i got two words about that. "SO"? after three or four years a jap bike is just another used bike. a harley on the other hand, is still a harley. i'm on my sixth corvette, never had any desire to own a firebird, camaro, cuda, or mustang. because they are all now just used cars. a corvette on the other hand, is still a corvette. class must count, after all you do own a harley, right. it'll never be just another used bike.

I've owned Goldwings (last was a 2005) and currently ride a 2008 Ultra classic w/ 103CI, Screaming eagle hi-flow heads, race tuner, 255 cams. Having said that, the Valkyre, although a 1500 will run away from most Goldwings (1832) and should run away from you. No offense to you or your ride, its just a matter of 6 cylinders, different gearing, and a bike that was made to "go fast" vice a touring model. Besides, your "friend" is suffering from all that heat that comes off that naked 1500, and those who have responded to this threat are right...........he makes his challenge because he is envious of what your ride.

I have been there, I have a friend with a 1800 vtx (I also have one)and all he talks about is how many bikes he has out run. It is all talk, he can not stay up with me on my 96 inch Ultra. That is sad.
A 1800 goldwing will smoke a 1500 valk... I have seen it many times and have rode both several times.
However, with your build it would be interesting I can eat a 1500 valk with my 1800 vtx but not a 1800 goldwing.
I do not talk I just do it. Catch your friend when you are out riding on a good safe road with no traffic and have a go at it.
