Default Footboard Insert removal - Accomplished!

It's probably simple, of course, but before I screw things up, I thought I'd ask for help. I need to remove the footboard insert from the actual footboard (installing a heelguard so I won't leave my melted boot all over my new Rineharts.

It looks like the insert mounts to the footboard with rubber bushing (things) that protrude THROUGH the footboard. How do I remove the insert without damaging anything?

Thanks in advance!

I just pry up lighly on the top, while squeezing the rubber bulbs on the bottom with some pliers.Kind of push from the bottom side too. They'll pop right out. It's easy.

Swing the footboard up so you can easily see the underside. Apply some soapy water or liquid soap to the rubber "udders" that hold the footboard insert on. Squeeze the udders one-by-one with a pliers, pushing them toward the top side as you squeeze them.

Just be careful not to tear them as you push them through. They go back in easier. Be sure to lubricate the the "udders"before you try to put them back in.

Make sure to use soapy water mix. It made it easier than doing it without

The use of a non HD soap will void your warranty!
