I have a 07 Ultra. Does anyone know where the best place and price is to get factory paint , (cobalt blue)? I purchased an inner fairing for a good price and I'm having it painted to match the bike for a winter project. I've seen prices from $115.00 to $135.00 a quart. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.

 

I'd check out either surdyke harley or chicago harley davidson. You just need the part number and once you put it in their site they will give you Harleys price and also what they will sell it for. I've had great success from Chicago HD since they charge next to nothing for shipping and I'm not stuck with tn sales tax. Hope this helps.

Don't forget the Urethane Activator, PN 99825-02 if you are buying Deep Cobalt Blue PN 98609BXT.

When I ordered HD paint at my dealer the kid didn't know the activator was required and when the paint arrived I read the label that says the activator is required, so, of course, they didn't have the activator in stock, so another week's delay for the activator--not a big deal, just annoying.

According to the HD Paint book, the activator is required for the deep cobalt blue and all of the other HD air dry paints.

Don't know of any other way to get it cheaper other than to check the on-line HD stores and compare their prices or call M&M Cycles, Jenny at Charley's in W. VA, etc.

See if a local paint shop can match it. It would probably be cheaper and likely better paint. My painter hates using HD paint - says it's crappy quality.

Good Automotive Paint Supplier can match any color paint - Most HD paint is 3 stage painting process...

 

Go to a local WESCO auto body and they'll take care of you. I've bought Harley paint there without a problem. There is one at this location and maybe one even closer to you, not sure though.

This is where I go for HD paint.

 

Go to cyclecolor.com they can match most harley paint colors and have the activator also. They also sell small repair (1/2 pts ) kits. Great customer service. By the way not all HD colors are Tri-stage. I have blackcherry pearl and it is not tri-stage. Also so you know HD paint is either Dupont or PPG manufacturer, so it is good quality paint.
