I have a set of street legal SE, slip ons.on mystock 07 FLHX. Theyare just not loud enough. Is there any problem with pulling out the fiberglass baffling to make them louder. I heard someone say that this motor needs back pressure andpulling out the baffling may hurt the motor.Anyone done this? Anyone had problems? Thanks JC

 

Why not just sell them and put on something else???? Yes back pressure is important to any engine...

 

With the time and aggravation you would go through trying to modify your mufflers, you could replace them go out for a ride have a beverage and a sandwich and then wash and wax your bike. Not worth all the effort.

 

I wouldn't bother dick'n with them. Do it right and get a set of SE11's or whatever other brand you choose and sell the street legal quiet ones.

You can all ways try it and see if there is a noticable reduction in power. I don't think the fiber glass makes anyback pressure. You can get new batts of fiber glass if you think they are too loud. If they are CA pipes, they may have a "cat" in them?
