Default RE: HID Headlight

just completed the install:
&nbsp\\;
1) extremely simple install, plug and play at its finest.
2) more than enough light for anyone,&nbsp\\;reflects off of signs at the daytime,&nbsp\\;very wide broadcast and at least 3x than oem.
3) I&nbsp\\;called Howard at 9:30pm for a silly but worthy question, &nbsp\\;only to be anwsered with a no b.s. response, excellent customer service and straight shooter.
&nbsp\\;
Thanks for the attention we can rely on!!
&nbsp\\;
For those who are on the fence about this purchase, quit your bitchin and buy the friggin thing , you know you're gonna get it eventually!!

Do you aim the HID lights any different than the stock ones? I have a kit on my RG (dual bulbs/Hi and Lo) and I am not sure I have them aimed right. The kit I got was for a car application and the back of the bulb is on the long side, which made it difficult to get the headlight housing back together. Any links to aiming tips?

I just bough from these guys. Great to deal with. If you know nothing about HIDs go to their web site. They have a lot if info!

BTW they were on sale for forum users. Under 200 dollars.

Just bought a set from Motorcycle Metal as they are running an August special for $149+ shipping for their kit. I am looking forward to the improved visibility with this mod.

Default You need to measure your bulbs.

One of the problems is having products that fit. The problem with your bulbs are they MAY be hitting the inner fairing on your Road Glide. When you put your outer fairing on the bulbs are too long not allowing you to put the fairing back on much less adjust the lighting. They hit if your bulb measures 4.9mm from the base to the rear of the bulb. This measurement is what most bulbs measures. The problem also lies as most bulbs can not be interchanged from manufacturer to manufacturer. I had to learn this information through experience. Most sellers do not know how to work on motorcycles, and do not know the particulars. You may make a spacer to space out your lens (2 bulb) including Plexiglas cover. This is the only way to aim your lights (unless you make a large fiberglass fairing ring & extend you fairing to make it longer. If you put clay behind your bulbs on the inner fairing than assemble your fairing, you will see they are hitting if you have the 4.9mm base bulbs. Once you ride your bike on the street, vibration and movement may than brake off the base of your bulbs. Don't ask me how we know.

The only thing I don't like about having a HID headlight is the running lights look yellow compared to the headlamp.

I put mine in around the summer of 05. Bought it when the dealer had a 20 percent off sale. It took me about 4 hours to install.

If you guys know of a matching set of bulbs for my running lights, let me know.

It is all what color temperature (light frequency) you bought. I use 6K bulbs which is daylight frequency light wave. I think I do not need a light source for improved visibility during the day. This is good for night as everyone wants to see like you do in the daytime. The drawback is that during the day you already have daytime light frequency. Less color distinction than a contrasting light source. The different color bulbs are more noticeable in frontal signature recognition than 6K frequency HID lightbulbs (which give you the best night time light) Modulate your passing lamps for better frontal signature recognition safety. we are working on LED replacement bulbs w/modulator for both passing lamps. The light would be in pure white, yellow, and 3.6K (yellowish) bulbs.
