Default air shocks

I just bought a 2006 street glide and it's my first harley. What air pressure should my air shocks be at and how often should I check them.

Really the pressure depends on weight of rider or riders combined. I am 380 lbs. so I set mine between 25 and 30 it's something you kind of need to play with to see what you like. As far as checking the air pressure I do it before I go on a long ride or once a week anyways I have found that my bike leaks a little air over the course of a week. Hope this helps TOM

Check the owners manual and go from there. I made five settings before I found the one I liked.

If this is your FIRST HARLEY then you should spend the time to read the owners Manual & Pick-up the Service Manual also...

Btw, I'd suggest a hand pump (either the HD or one of the others designed for the task). It's a pretty tight system and you can blow a line or seal using compressed air at a station.

I run around 25lbs on trips (one-up with about 100lbs of gear). Mine tends to bleed off pressure after about a week, so I now check it regularly. I've heard mechanics say that you shouldn't let it run at zero pressure for too long...something about it allowing the lubricant in the system to escape.

ymmv

Check pressure regularly as they will loose pressure.
I ride 2 up and have them set at 18-20 lbs but it depends on what you think is comfortable and what weight you're moving around.
Get the HD hand pump, use nothing else.
