RE: leather jacket??
i bought the harley fxrg medium weight - and i really love it - but then again i have nothing from a recent pruchase to really compare it to. pricey - 500+ - but very comfortable with xtras and very functional.
cant wear it much above 60 as it is very warm - well maybe 65 or so - has 2 front chest vents and a back vent which help
it has a zip out lining which when in use will be good for down to 30F, haven't ridden below that so can't say if it was colder, but i an thinking no prob. when 30 i just wear a smart wool t and then some other cold weather top. nothing bulky
the fit is really good, it has the normal curved extended sleeves - with zippers making it easy to get on and off.
the cuffs keep out cold air going up your arms
it is really heavy leather but not stiff
how can i say this - it just feels right
has elbow, shoulder, back armor
has enough pockets
has zipper along the back to zip pants to - it works well
supposedly waterproof, have had it in light rain but never heavy rain - partly because i like wearing the rain gear hood under my helmet to stop the rain from going down my neck
would definitley recommend it
not sure where it is made, but lets face it, some profit goes to the dealer, some to harley, etc so some does go to the u.s.
would like to see how it holds up to other vendors, but since most only have one jacket like this it might be hard to find anyone who gives you a side by side comparison
by the way - also have the fxrg boots and really like them also
now here i can compare those to redwing - but that would be a different thread
will check out the other vendors next time maybe although i would recommend this jacket to anybody.
