Default hard saddlebags

Hi folks,

Could anyone tell me, are the HD hard saddlebags for the touring models ('93 and up) made out of fiberglass or are they molded plastic of some sort?

thanks

My 08's are like a black ABS material not fiberglass.

Ride well,

'93-2004(?) are fiberglass.

2005 and up are often said to be ABS plastic. However, the HD calls the material "GTX Nylon".

This is correct, it is much more chemical resistant with more strength and it does look like plastic.

When my 03FLHTCI was hit this past summer, it had fiberglass bags on it. When they replaced the one damaged saddlebag, it was plastic. I made them replace the other one to match. Not sure when they changed from one material to another, sometime between 03 and 07.

What color are the inside of them? Lighter color is fiberglass, the dark in the plastic, or nylon, whichever you want to call it.
