Default Who knows about chrome?

A local body shop has just purchased a new chrome plating set up. It's nothing like the chrome processes I've see before. Supposed to be a new hi-tech way of doing chrome. they can chrome anything, plastic, metal and it's very flexible. I'm thinking it's the same stuff they use on headlight reflectors or the grill on my new Silverado. Apparently it's quite durable and they can do colors. Looking for imput from anyone that can give it.

Paint-type application?

If so, had a major car customizer (customer of mine) try it up in Dallas. Didn't work worth a flip - they ticked off a TON of folks when it failed on some very high-dollar jobs.

The process developer blamed our water. We quietly pulled the specs they originally provided, then asked 'em for specs again (as if we didn't have 'em). Surprise - they'd changed the specs! Unfortunately, we were able to prove that the water system as installed met the NEW specs, as well - so MY customer made 'em take the rig back....

Can't replace copper/nickel/chrome triple plate. If not done just right it sucks. Krylon has a chrome paint that's not bad.

Isn't that the same company that makes gold from sea water?

Ride well,

Here's a few companies that sell spray chrome setups:

http://www.sprayonchrome.com/index2.html (nice video showing how it works)

http://www.goldtouchinc.com/cosmichrome/

Pretty cool stuff. Don't know how well it holds up...
