My friend and riding buddy now hates my guts. I got a call from his wife last night who said my friend was out of control and saying he wanted to kill himself and breaking everything in the house. When I got over to his house he was out of control saying he wanted a bottle of crown and a gun to shoot himself.All the while tearing up his garage. I managed to keep his eglide classic out of harms way.I talked him down and was able to get him to go with me to the hospital. That took until 3am. Now he is in the rehabcenter for evaluation. He just called me and told me I was everything but a child of God.I'm kind of tired.

 

I'll ride with you, but you'll have to come to my house for the starting point.

 

With friends like that.....................

Call me selfish, but I have enough problems of my own without taking on someone else's baggage especially if the person is an ingrate. I'd cut this one loose.

 

Seems like your friend needs some help

 

Don't take it personall, your friend is in need for some help and hopefully he will get the help. He's just venting at the moment cause he thinks everyone is against him. You are a true friend to him. He might not think so at the moment but he will come around. Keep your head up and give him some room to find himself and get the help he needs. He will come around might just take a while. Be his friend and be there for him, he may not know it yet but he might need you in the near future for help. Good Luck!!

Well, you shouldn't have slept with his wife!

Seriously, I'd agree with epd612's statement. Obviously something is wrong, and he's (hopefully) getting the treatment he needs. You being there for him will help quite a bit. There are limits of course to what you could/should put up with, but there's no reason not to try. Not everyone is perfect, regardless of what they might think of themselves!

 

what's the rest of the story? Did he catch you with his wifey?

 

Seems like there are a lot of "FAIR WEATHER" friends here!
But that's today's world. Too bad so many of you appear to fit into that
category.
If he (or she) is your friend, THEY ARE YOUR FRIEND!!!!
Sometimes friends need our help in ways we can not imagine!
I don't know what happened to your friend (environmental or medically),
but I pray the best for him!
Hopefully with the proper care, concern and treatment he will be better.
You or him ever out this way, look me up I will ride with you and show you country and sights
you haven't seen!
Based on some of you peoples responses, I would think twice about calling yourselves
friends to anyone and a true member of the biking COMMUNITY!!
