LED Bulbs
I want to put LED's in my front and rear signals on the Street Glide. I had the Kyryakyn kit on my Deuce which included a complete lense housing. Can I use just an LED bulb in my signals and get the same effect and does anyone know if they are ok to use on HD?
Thanks
Thanks
LEDs are very small bulb which require many to get the full brightness. They are more complex than a standard filament bulb because they are grouped on a circuit board and usually potted(sealed in plastic) and made for specific applications. If you look at your old lights you will see 15-20 pea sized bulbs arrayed behind the lense.
1 bulb is the size of a pencil eraser and on its own is not a lot of light. They can be made up but the time and effort may not be worth it. You need to find a kit like the Kury for your bike.

After installing the LED bulbs and seeing how much brighter the Kyryakans are Ibought the smoked amber front and red rear Kyrys complete lens kit from eastern performace. I have the rears set up as running and brake lights that flash 3 times and then go solid when you hit the brake
Deucegurl.. you should be fine. I'd sure try that first before I bought all new housings. The front light is a 1157 and the rear is a 1156. Go to this site and have a look ;-) You'll need to scroll down the find the proper bulbs.

Here you go Ducegurl, everything you need and no need to replace housings. You will need to put in a load equalizer. I would suggest biketronics.com for that, plug and play.

Customdynamics has all the LED goodies. They were very helpful when I called them. I agree with FLHT.
