Default Kuryakyn GPS Mount

Has anyone installed the new fuel door GPS mount from Kuryakyn? Do you like it? Is it well made? Any problems? Does the power cable running from GPS to battery look clean? Any feed back is welcomed.
Thanks...

I can answer a couple of your questions...

I just got mine but have not installed it yet. I will use it for my Garmin 478.

Power...will be the cig lighter type and I'll connect to the AUX port for sound.

Is it well made? Yes, it is solid, and well machined/chromed. The adjusting **** is knurled and large enough for use with a gloved hand.

My GPS has a seperate XM antenna so I'll have to fashion a mounting plate for that. While I would rather have the GPS mounted on the dash (more eye level) this should work.

Hope that helps a little...

I saw it for the first time in Daytona. I like the look and it seems to be well made. The down side is it is not easy to quickly removethe GPSfrom the bike and use it on other vehicles (Garmin 2720). My GPS travels from car to bike to truck and back. The upside is you don't have to take it off and lock it in your bags when you leave the bike although in plain site it might be a temptation to a bad guy. The other down side is to read the GPS the face or screen has to face up which I think may make it difficult to see in bright daylight.
Just my thoughts

If the GPS is hard wired, it looks like there would be a problem refueling.

I have my GPS mounted to the fuel door. I ran the cord under the tank console to the AUX plug under the seat. The cord can't be seen and the door works fine. Also I can see the GPS better in the sun than in the car. Hope that helps.

I think I would rather my GPS be on my handlebar.....as far as seeing/viewing
the screen and making small adjustments.
The gPS on the fuel cap would be angled UP too steep and reflect the sun
(although even mine on the handlebar reflects sun at certain times)
I still like my RAM mount.

Also the fuel door does not vibrate like some other mounts can.

Do you have some pictures you can post on your install? And maybe one with the fuel door open. Not sure what you mean, run cord under tank console.
