garage door opener,reset button mod
I was going to put the reset button next to the tach on my 08 ultra , similar to the way that the factory button is next to the speedo, but because the factory button is in a recess the button next to the tach wouldn't look quite the same. I was wondering where other people who have done this mod have put their button?

I put my button on the side of the console, similar to the way a RK trip odometer button is positioned.
I mounted the garage door opener in the fairing w/ velcro, ran the wires along/under the tank and back up into the console. Works very good and looks factory to the novice.
I need to get some pics.

I went to radio shack and got a button, ran the wires out from the remote to the button, velcored it to the inner faring and drilled a hole insidethe space where the speaker is from the top. Ran the button down thourgh the hole and used hot glue to secure it on the inside of the fairing. Works great and you can't see it unless you know it's there.

RE: garage door opener, reset button mod
Ultra-geeky there Fast Eddie! I have 1 remote for the gate to my community and 1 for garage door. I velcroed one behind each side cover. I bought a water-tight aircraft pushbutton with a rubber boot and mounted it on the panel right behind the rear cylinder. (there is a 1/4" whole drilled from the factory) It's a lot cleaner and cheaper than H-D's xmitter/receiver method.
