OEM Monkey Bars
Has any one run these on an '08 SG? http://www.baggernation.com/products-bars.htm My concern is the 'center width'. Is it the same on the RG as the Electra Glides? The site doesn't give the specs as far as center width & pull back. 9" rise and 32" grip width is good for me (although the price is killin me! C'mon Paul, their stinkin bars!) I'm overseas right now so I can't walk out to the garage and measure it but if they'll work, I'd like to order them so they'll be in the 'pile' of stuff waiting when I get back.
Does it ever end? Yeah, really dumb question!
I ordered a set 2 weeks ago and have maybe 4 weeks to go they are on B/O so if your thinking about getting a set the sooner you order the sooner you will get them.

RE: OEM Monkey Bars
Yeah, at that price their almost free... almost[:-] It is what it is. What I get from the description on the site is that RG's need more center width; I'm just wondering how much and if this creates a clearence prob w/tank? I don't imagine it would (how much wider can they be?) but I never get lucky in these situations. Anyway, I'm stuck in the Philippines for a couple more months so it's not a big rush

If you order now they might be at your home when you get back. They told me 2 to 3 weeks but in the next breath he said more like 4 to8 weeks[:@]. I will wait because they look COOL.
These arethe Ones you want because of your Fairing
Monkey Bagger Bars Holy **** these bars are bitchinâ!! When Paul took to tricking out his Street GlideÂŽ he wanted to combine chopper styling and attitude with a unique handlebar that Bagger Nation could truly call itâs own! Talk about nailing it! These handcrafted bars fit all touring models with bat wing fairings such as Street Glides, Electra Glides etc... Nothing will add more attitude to your bagger than a set of Paulâs Monkey Bagger Bars! They sit 12â tall with a 36â spread. They are chrome plated, pre-drilled for internal wires and are available in both 1â and 1.25â diameters. The coolest part is they fit all applications including 2008 fly-by-wire models!

I know those will fit, I'm just not wanting to go that high (12") or that wide (36"). Do you know exactly what probs are run into trying to use the other set with a Batwing? It seems it would be the 'center width' although the site doesn't give much detail. I think center width I need is 11.5" and I'm guessing that the RG calls for wider? Anybody know for sure? Sometimes it's a PIA to be on the other side of the world when you're trying to get something done[:@] If I can get the measurements I need I can just have a set made here for a fraction of the cost; this is the land of the"knock-off"!
I have the Bars (OEM Monkey Bars/Meat Hooks)my Bike and the Center is actually 12", the reason this will not work is because the are Straight Bars (from the base to the Grips) and will hit the inner fairing if the bars are not pulled way back to clear the inner fairing.
