Looks great. I like a big blue bike. Nice job. Enjoy your ride.

great job Ron, I have to agree with your choice and I have been thinking about doing the same thing. I have a 08 SG that is Crimson Red Sunglow, and if I ever paint the inner I would do the same thing. In my opinion its just too much color for me if I were to match the inner with the bike!

Looks sharp, now get out there and ride it! Be safe!

Thanks everyone. It's a fun project and I would recommend if you're on the fence about doing it yourself just go for it - you won't be sorry.

Glad to help anytime - but if you got it off my guess is you'll do just fine.

You mean instead of matching the bike color? Well, seems that's what everybody does and to me that would be way to much blue in my face all day long. I liked the contrast of the original flat black and the blue, so stuck with it and am very happy with the outcome.
Last Saturday I saw a bright-yellow (and I mean BRIGHT) Ultra SE at the dealer, and it had the painted inner fairing. Man, it looked like a giant canary, with yellow screaming at you from all angles. I think that might get old for the rider, but it would be an asset for visibility. Anyone who pulls out in front of that bike and says "I didn't see you" is blind.

Hey Ron,
The fairing looks great, I do have a question though.
How effective are the Polk tweeters, do they really make a difference?
Do they require an amp to power up or are they plug & play?
Fill me in on the install.

TIA,
Charlie

RonH, Don't let them give you hell. I agree, that would have been too much blue. Contrast really sets a bike off, and that shiny black inner fairing is awesome against the blue. I love mine and wouldn't change a thing. Oh, I almost forgot, my bike is the fastest color, black, so I guess I did paint to match, but I would have done the same as you if I had a blue bike.
