Default Green Slime Question

Went on a 100 mile COPS ride Sunday with close to 1000 bikes from all over Maryland to benefit survivors of Police Officers killed in the line of duty.&nbsp\\; Very nice ride from southern Maryland to Howard County.&nbsp\\; On the way back, my buddy had a front flat tire on his RK.&nbsp\\; We went to a local Walmart and got Green Slime w/electric pump kit.&nbsp\\; Worked great on his tubless tire.&nbsp\\; Thank God someone had an Ultra Classic w/cigarette lighter for the electric pump.&nbsp\\; Questions:&nbsp\\; 1.&nbsp\\; Will this stuff work on a tire with a tube as my bike has spoked wheels.&nbsp\\; 2.&nbsp\\; Should my buddy leave the tire alone as it seems to be ok after getting slimed, or get it looked at and/or replaced.&nbsp\\; We could find no obvious puncture point on the tire.&nbsp\\;

1. Yes, slime will work on tubed and tubeless tires. It's very popular with the mountain bike crowd and their bicycle tires, of course, have tubes.

2. Opinions may differ on this, but, for me, any tire repair on a motorcycle is a temporary fix only. I wouldn't trust my life to a plug, patch, tire sealant, or any combination thereof. It's one thing to have a blowout in a car or on a bicycle, it's something altogether to have one on a motorcycle. I don't see any sense in risking your life over the cost of a new tire.

I agree with everyone else above. I would have the tire checked. It is possible, though unlikely, that it could be a bad valve core. If the tire has been punctured, I would be buying a new tire.

The worst part of Green Slime is the godawful mess when you go to change the tire.

I will tell you this, If you use the slime and it doesn't quite fix it, Do not add a can of fix a flat.&nbsp\\; It will cause the slime to liquify and run out of the tire like crap through a goose.&nbsp\\; And the slime is tough to get off your pipes.&nbsp\\; LOL.&nbsp\\; Friend had a flat in WEst by God Virginia and tried slime followed by fix a flat.&nbsp\\; He spat green crap at me and then the tire went down.&nbsp\\; One or the other but not both.&nbsp\\; And remember it is a temp fix only.
