Default RE: Exhaust Shield Upgrade - Nice!

I've had good luck ordering from Zannoti's and ordered the shield from them also. Cost $62.76 plus shipping. I usually order a couple items to make the deal better. No taxes for me is also a plus.

Default installation questions

This may sound like a dumb question, but how hard is it to remove the old heat shield and install the new one - what's involved? does it just clip into the existing clamp with no pipe removal needed?

Thanks

Screw driver is what I used, and make sure you get the H-D part #65694-05A at $100.oo.
It use to be cheaper.

thanks for the quick reply - so you just unscrew the old clamp with the screw driver and then does that metal ringe completely unhook or release? With the new one, is the metal loop open and then you insert it in the other side and tighten down the screw?

I just wantto make sure I do not have to take off the pipe or get myself into a situation where they say 5 minutes but it ends up being a bigger project.

Yep, stock heat shields are pretty easy to swap w/o removing exhaust. Now...aftermarket, depending on the system, can be a bear.

Nice look'n shields on OP's scoot!

gotcha - you bring up a good point - I will have to take a look at the bike tonight because the guy I bought it from put on a Bassani True Dual system, so I am assuming the heat shields that are on there may not be stock and were part of that system.

If thats the case, is it better to go with the Kur bridge the gap shield?
