wife dead due to rear blowout
#13
I was talking to a guy saturday who had his rear tire blow out on a 2007 Ultra at 70 MPH while 2up with his wife and it only had 7,000 miles on the bike. He said he checked the pressure regularly and it just blew out and he lost control and they went down, they were lucky and both survived with non serious injuries. It could happen to any of use. Prayers go out to the family and friends

That is horrific. I ride 2-up every day because the wife and I communte together and than dodge deer at midnight on the way home. I cant even imaginine what the husband is going thru now. Prayers sent that god helps him thru this.
And I just had my rear tire changed at 10,000 miles when it looked good still. Now I feel like I didnt waste the money.

Very tragic. Most motorcycle crashes that result from a blowout are normally due to the rider panicking from the loose feeling you get at the rear or front of the motorcycle. Another is excessive braking. I lost my rear tire at 65 mph one time. I slowly let off the gas and slowly came to a stop. This is very sad, my prayers are with him and his family.
I feel for the guy... thats a tough thing to have to go through.
