A wake up call for all of us to go check our tire pressures and tread. I do not know these people but can certainly relate to the situation.

That's enough to make me seriously consider not riding at all. She was wearing a helmet and still had head injuries. May not have had anything to do with tire wear or pressure for all we know from that article.

You are correct, what a terrible way to lose anyone. I think road trash is also an issue. There are certain routes in this area that I will not run. A local guy came across a bridge and a driveshaft was in the middle of his lane. The rider did recover from the accident, but what a mess.

Very tragic. Most motorcycle crashes that result from a blowout are normally due to the rider panicking from the loose feeling you get at the rear or front of the motorcycle. Another is excessive braking. I lost my rear tire at 65 mph one time. I slowly let off the gas and slowly came to a stop. This is very sad, my prayers are with him and his family.

God, that's terrible. My wife and I ride two up all the time, so this sends shivers down my spine for sure. I can't imagine how that poor husband feels. No matter what caused the tire to blow out, I'm sure he never saw it coming. How the hell can you be prepared for that? When that happens luck is either on your side or it isn't. My heart goes out to him and the family.
