Question on the Monster Ovals
Dude, nice bike.
Looking at your pictures, it looks like your exhaust might touch down before your floorboards in a good lean. Is that the case? I like those pipes, but I lean the **** out of my bike in a corner (can't get rid of my sport bike habits). It would suck to screw up the finish on those pipes.
Thanks for the info!
pics won't show up now. [bull ****!] click links to see lean angles I ride at.

Forgot one important thing.
The new gearing. I like it. It seems to be about spinning about 200-250 rpms higher in any given gear/speed than my 07. I cant speak too much on acceleration as my 07 was a stage 2 103", so it would not be a fair comparison. I can say, that 6th gear is MUCH more usable,(my 07 had an IDS on it, so thats not a new factor for me) and I found myself in sixth gear several times thinking I was in fifth. You can go into six easily at around 65 mph now, or even as low as 60 mph if there's not much load on the motor (easy cruise on a nice flat area) and it does not seem to be lugging or straining, although 60 mph is the low end as the motor is turning about 2200-2300 rpm at 60 in sixth gear. Doing 80 in 6th gear had me turning around 2900-3000 rpm. Overall, its lost that "this gear is just a BIT too tall" feeling my 07 had. So, another good change for the better IMHO.

I was wondering how the new gearing would be in the real world. If I had one conplaint about my 07 Ultra, it would be the tall gearing...especially 2 up & fully loaded.

Saw 3 09s this weekend, this color, blue and black. The new RED looks amazing. I'm not going to be one of 07/08 guys that says my bike is better. The new bike looks 100 Xs better and I'm sure it rides better too. If I didn't have mine exactly like I want it, I'd be getting one. Times like this make me wish I left my bike stock Best of luck with it.

Everything sounds good EXCEPT...1/3 the vibration at idle. I talked to my dealer and he said the same thing. I will be riding a new Ultra in the next week or two. If the shake is gone at idle, I have bought my last new Harley. My Softail already feels too sterile. If it still feels like a Harley, I will probably trade although I don't think any of the new colors are as good as the Candy Red Sunglo or Crimson Red Sunglow but I will have to sit them side by side to be sure...
Congrats on that new air cooled beast...

So, its still very much a harley, just toned down a bit.
