Default Need HELP!!!!

Started up my 08 SG to warm up and everything was fine and all of a sudden the tach went to zerror, and now most of the icons are not working (fuel pressure, and the abs light is on and not blinking.

I checked the fuses and all are o.k.

I did notice in the fuse block there is a P&A IGN that says 2A Max.
It had a 15 amp fuse in it.

Anyone have any Ideas?
Call dealer and he just said bring it in. He's 2 1/2hours away so if there is something I can reset or check that woud be great.

Thanks

I also just noticed the little security key is also not flashing. The turn signals still flash when you turn off the switch.

I am a little upset as I have only had this bike for less than a week.
I rode my FatBoy for 10 years and never had a problem. Oh well just my luck and it's under Warranty.

I'll just take a stab at this - no real SG experience for this type of situation - but I wonder what would happen if you disconnected the batter for a few minutes? Might reset something that tripped? Or maybe there's a loose wire/connection somewhere?

Check battery connections, pull up error codes.Did you just wash it or ride in heavy rain? That's it, I'm out of ideas for now.

Recently hit a bump in the road and lost the back light on speedo, speedo froze at 45, lost tach, and lost odo on my 03 Heritage. Check engine and security light worked normal.

Had a broken ground wire under the seat near battery positive terminal. Cleaned and spliced it. All good now.

Pull the seat and do a "wiggle" test to see if it comes and goes.

Got the following from another list on how to get the error codes to display. I have not tried this but what the hell...

ECM CODES
The IM (instrument module) is capable of displaying DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes).
Speedometer Self Diagnostics: The speedometer is capable of displaying and clearing speedometer, tachometer, TSM/TSSM and ICM/ECM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.
2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.
3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting should illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word "diag" should then appear.
4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with the first P flashing.
5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)
P = ECM/ICM (Electronic Control Module [EFI] / Ignition Control Module [Carbureted])
S = TSM/TSSM (Turn Signal/ Turn Signal Security Module)
SP = speedometer
T = tachometer
6 - To get the DTC within an area of diagnostics, push and hold the odometer reset button in for 5 seconds and release. If there are any DTC’s the code will be displayed or the word "none" will appear if there are no DTC’s. Push the odometer reset button again to view additional codes if they exist.
7 - Record the codes.
8 - If DTC’s are not to be cleared, Press and release the odometer reset button. Part number of module will be displayed.
NOTE: To determine if a code is current or historic, clear the displayed code by pushing in and holding the odometer reset button ( longer than 5 seconds) until 'clear' comes up. Release the odometer reset button. Turn OFF the ignition switch. Run your bike and shut it down then recheck the DTC’s again by repeating steps 1 to 9. If the code is current it will reappear.
9 – Press and release the odometer reset button to continue to the next module.
10 – Turn Ignition switch to OFF.

Don't know but it sounds like a bad connection somewhere...was that 15 amp fuse in the 2amp slot from the start? That could cause real trouble if that circuit got overloaded somehow...
