I havent heard anyone mention the oil temps, but some are claiming to have reduced the head temps by 100 degrees.

My only complaint with the PC is the drop in fuel mileage; down to 31 MPG (170 miles per tank full down from 245 miles per tank full without PC) on freeway in the flats lands of South Texas. This is with a Jaime map tweeked over the phone to eliminate decel popping. Yes the heat reduction is fantastic but the added fuel cost for a daily driver was too great so I took it off.

When I bought my '07 RK, I had ordered my PC ahead of time. Picked up my bike and drove it home 13 miles. That thing was so hot, it was unbelievable. Put on the PC, stock map (no modifications on this bike) and been riding it ever since. 20,000 miles and runs great. 225 oil temp is the highest I've seen on it. IMO. you just can't run these things without some form of fuel mgt. device. They won't live very long without one. IF I need warranty work, I'll just unplug it. Warranty runs out next March anyway. That'll be when I trade it.

your fuel mileage should not have dropped by that much. mine dropped from 39-43 mpg to 38-43 mpg (depending on city/hwy, etc) you should be doing much better than 31 on flat freeways (unless your running wot all day long). under those kind of conditions, i got 45/46 mpg on the way to sd.

to answer the original question, i did install my pc before i did any other mods, ie. pipes or ac, just to cool down the engine. ran it that way for a couple of months until i got the pipes and ac that i wanted.

I know there are a lot of other fuel management options out there so I ain’t say’n the PCIII is the best. But in MHO it is the cats pajama’s. I wasn’t aware of this forum when I bought the set-up and had never heard of Fuel Moto. Sounds like Jamie would have saved me some grief. Anyway, installed the Rineharts, Arlen Ness A/C and the PCIII which came with a canned map. Bike ran OK, but had some decel pop and a few other issues. Been thinking about a Dyno but then today figured screw that, I’ll go ahead and do some tweaking. Called John at Power Commander and got a few tips. Popped the right side cover and hooked up to my laptop in the garage. Re-loaded the latest and greatest map for my TD and AC setup. Then fired it up and followed the instructions. Couldn’t have been any easier and just totally awesome to sit with my laptop while the bike was running and make adjustments. I finally found the PERFECT set up. The only difference from the suggested PCIII map was to go to the zero percent column in both fuel tables and change the +5 value to +10 from 2000rpm all the way up to 6500rpm. Can’t believe the difference! It’s like I have a whole new bike. Anyway, not sayin PCIII is the best because I know that’s a whole nuther subject. Just wanted to pass along a totally positive experience with a great product that is simple to understand and use. My 02.

I have to echo what Buzzsaw said. Did a lot of research and went with Fuelmoto's
power package and could not be happier. Great sounding pipes, cooler and smoother
running, and more low end torque (which means less shifting between 5 & 6).

I am considering the PCIII. Thanks for the input.
