Geee, do you think that MOCO just might be capable of "turnin' the screws a little tighter" and possibly enforcing the warranty statement a little bit more then they have in the past? If you still don't think so, you'd better ponder this!
Can Harley-Davidson survive the downturn?

In 2006 I purchased a 2006 Ultra Classic for a Harley Dealership, i requested the exhausted be changed, I was told I would need SERT race Turning at a cost of $495.00
plus an air cleaner up grade to make it all work properly. Two years later i was thinking of changing the SERT for a Power Commander III. I was there when the shop owner (not and Harley Dealer) took the side cover off and said where is the SERT needless to say we looked everywhere and didn't find it. I felt ripped off by the dealer i bought the Ultra from. I guess they used a program to tune the bike , I didn't received the program . Was i ripped off or not , i know this is off the subject but i was just wondering if i was taken or not. This dealer at the time had no Dyno so i know it was just tuned by computer.
Thanks

The SERT does not stay on the bike. They should have given you a small box with the unit in it. A SERT can only be used on one bike, as it will only use one VIN and cannot be transferred to another motorcycle. Either the dealer gave you a box and you did not know what it was, they never gave you the box and likely could still have it, or they did not tune your bike with a SERT.

Try that in court and you will be the bigger loser. If you tamper with any engine control device ( intake, exhaust, ECM ,etc ) that is used on the public roads, you have violated federal law. The Law is contained in the motor vehicle anti-tampering act of 1979. Sometime around October 2005, the EPA started applying pressure on the motorcycle world. ( OEM, Aftermarket suppliers, and private individuals could be inprisioned, and fined up to 10,000 dsollars a day , for each day the vehicle was used on the road. That is why the manufacterer has to warranty the emmission system for so long.

Do any of you Harley Techs out there who read and collaborate on this board know for a fact if this is true or not?

2 year warranty
If the thing doesn’t go sideways after the first 1k, it’s not going to. For every one horror story on this here interwebs, there’s a thousand stories of not a damn thing happening.
It’s not a unique to HD action to void a warranty when one goes installing high performance non manufacturer approved products.
Why so many get their panties all bunched up is beyond belief. It’s your bike, do what you want.
